BOARD OF TRUSTEES     REGULAR MEETING

JUNE 15, 2023

            The Board of Trustees of the Town of Hennessey met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on June 15, 2023. The meeting was held in the Council Room of the Town Hall Complex located at 123 S. Main, Hennessey, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.

Mayor Clif Vogt called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Trustees David Jones, Harold Shaw, Bert Gritz, and Randy Bohnstedt answered roll call. Others at the council table were Town Treasurer Shelley Burch, Kelley Vaverka, Town Clerk and Interim Town Administrator David Treanor. Also attending the meeting was Jack Quirk, Barb Walter, Angie Bruner, Aaron Pitts, Matt Bruner, Tony Hickey, Denise Meloy, Alyssa Kubat, Bryan Burch, Stephen Sanchez, Ernesto Vasquez, Luis Macias, Uriel Escamilla, David Renteria, Alexander Vasquez, Israel Gonzalez, Sergio Heros, and Reymundo Gonzalez.

No report. The board has suspended meetings during the summer.

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gritz to approve the Town of Hennessey Budget for 2023-24. Motion carried 5 YES

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF KRAPFF REYNOLDS PAYMENT #3 USING CDBG FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,041.00 FOR CDBG GRANT #18523-21.

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Shaw to pay Krapff Reynolds payment #3 using CDBG funds in the amount of $33,041.00 for CDBG Grant #18523-21. Motion carried.        5 YES

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF FIREWORKS FROM RAINBOW FIREWORKS

Motion by Shawseconded by Bohnstedt to approve the purchase of fireworks from Rainbow Fireworks in the amount of $7,497.24. Motion carried.     5 YES

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE SWIMMING LESSON AGREEMENT.

Motion by Bohnstedt, seconded by Vogt to approve the swimming lesson agreement to take affect for the 2024 swim season. Motion carried. 5 YES

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO RAISE THE STARTING WAGE OF THE A/P-PAYROLL CLERK.

Motion by Shaw, seconded by Vogt to increase the starting wage of the A/P-Payroll Clerk to $15.37 at the discretion of the town administrator. Motion carried. 5 YES

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gritz to declare 302 E Kansas a nuisance. Motion carried. 5 YES

Motion by Gritz, seconded by Vogt to create a written policy and procedure concerning customer complaints made to the individual Trustees. Motion carried. 3 YES

This item to be removed. This item will be included in the quote from Dobbs Construction.

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE QUOTE FROM DOBBS CONSTRUCTION FOR THE COMPLETE BUILD OF THE CEMETERY RESTROOMS. 

Tabled awaiting more masonry quotes.               

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO SPRAY AND MOW THE SOCCER FIELD MORE OFTEN.

This will fall under the parks department to take care of.

DISCUSSION WITH POSSIBLE ACTION TO TAKE OVER THE 11 LOTS ON 2ND STREET THAT ARE BEING DONATED BY RICHARD SIMUNEK 

Motion by Bohnstedt, seconded by Shaw to take over the 11 lots on 2nd Street that are being donated by Richard Simunek. Motion carried. 5 YES

HENNESSEY UTILITIES AUTHORITY

BOARD OF TRUSTEES     REGULAR MEETING

June 15, 2023

            The Board of Trustees of the Hennessey Utilities Authority met May 11, 2023.  The meeting was held in the Town Hall Complex located at 123 S. Main, Kingfisher County, Hennessey, Oklahoma.

            Chairman Clif Vogt called the meeting to order at 8:50 p.m. with members David Jones, Randy Bohnstedt Harold Shaw, and Bert Gritz answering roll call.  Others present at the council table were Shelley Burch, Town Treasurer, Kelley Vaverka, Town Clerk., and David Treanor, Interim Town Administrator.

Also attending the meeting was Angie Bruner, Barb Walter, Tony Hickey, Denise Meloy, Alyssa Kubat, and Ruby Rodriguez.

CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA

Motion by Gritz, seconded by Vogt to accept the Consent Agenda, Motion carried. 5 YES

Motion by Shaw, seconded by Bohnstedt to approve the HUA budget for 2023-24, Motion carried. 5 YES

Barb Walters commented that school board has put their drainage project on hold due to town waterlines running in the same area.
