TOWN OF HENNESSEY

BOARD OF TRUSTEES     REGULAR MEETING MINUTES 

MARCH 14, 2024

            The Board of Trustees of the Town of Hennessey met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on March 14, 2024. The meeting was held in the Council Room of the Town Hall Complex located at 123 S. Main, Hennessey, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.

Mayor Clif Vogt called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Trustees David Jones, Bert Gritz, and Randy Bohnstedt answered roll call. Harold Shaw was absent. Others at the council table were Town Clerk, Kelley Vaverka, Town Treasurer, Shelley Burch, and Town Administrator, Tiffany Tillman. Also attending the meeting was Jack Quirk, Barb Walter, Jamie Keel, Keri, Keel, and Jennifer Melton. John Wynn and Jared Harrison arrived at 7:10 P.M.  

REPORT FROM HENNESSEY AD HOC AGENCIES

Jack Quirk reported that Discover Hennessey has been busy with preparations for the upcoming car show. The found a contractor to fix the sound system and got permission from the state to reroute the traffic so that Hwy 81 can be closed during the car show, 

 

APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA WHICH INCLUDES THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING, CLAIMS TO BE PAID, AND THE DEPARTMENT REPORTS (Police, Water, Fire, Library, Treasurer, Town Hall,

Motion by Bohnstedt, seconded by Vogt to approve the consent agenda.  Motion carried   3 YES

TOWN ADMINISTRATOR REPORT

OTHER SCHEDULED BUSINESS:

JOHN WYNNE’S RESPONSE TO TOWN CODE REVIEW.  

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Gritz to send John Wynne’s review to ALP and incorporate his responses into the draft. Motion carried 4 YES.

ENTER INTO A CONTINGENCY LEGAL CONTRACT WITH USSERY & LEVIN LAW GROUPS TO COLLECT FOR A PFAS (FOREVER CHEMICALS) DAMAGE TO OUR WATER PRODUCTION SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY UP-FRONT COST.

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Bohnstedt to enter into a contingency legal contract with Ussery and Levin Law Groups to collect for PFAS damage to our water production system without any up front cost. Motion carried 4 YES

ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF JOHN WYNNE AS TOWN ATTORNEY. 

Motion by Jones, seconded by Bohnstedt to accept John Wynne’s resignation. Motion carried 4 YES.

APPOINT JARED H. HARRISON OF KINGFISHER, OK AS TOWN ATTORNEY.

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Bohnstedt to hire Jared Harrison to be our town attorney at the rate of $225 per hour and will be present at all of our town meetings. Motion carried 4 YES.

KERI HILBOLT BUILDING PERMIT DENIAL APPEAL.

Motion by Gritz, seconded by Vogt to override ordinance chapter 9-A-5 regarding the square footage of mobile homes for permit #2024004 for Keri and Jamie Keel. Motion carried 4 YES

SUMMER 2024 AQUATIC CENTER RATES.

Motion by Vogt, seconded by Bohnstedt to have the season passes be $75 for individual pass and a family pass be $200 up to 5 family members and able to add up to 3 more people at $25 per person. The individual rates are 0-1 free with paid admission, 2-17 $3, 18+ $4, 65+ free with paid admission. Private parties will be $200 with a $50 deposit.

HENNESSEY UTILITIES AUTHORITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES     REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

            The Board of Trustees of the Hennessey Utilities Authority met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on March 14, 2024. The meeting was held in the Council Room of the Town Hall Complex located at 123 S. Main, Hennessey, Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.

Mayor Clif Vogt called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m. Trustees David Jones, Bert Gritz, and Randy Bohnstedt answered roll call. Harold Shaw was absent. Others at the council table were Town Clerk, Kelley Vaverka, Town Treasurer, Shelley Burch, and Town Administrator, Tiffany Tillman. Also attending the meeting was Jack Quirk and Barb Walter.
